AbilityOne Base Supply Centers have taken customer satisfaction to heart and have hosted Customer Appreciation events at several locations this summer. These events not only foster a sense of gratitude towards customers but also provide an opportunity to connect with them on a personal level. With refreshments, engaging booths from popular suppliers, and an overall atmosphere of celebration, these events create a memorable experience for all involved.

Building Connections through Customer Appreciation

Our AbilityOne Base Supply Centers (BSCs) understand the significance of customer relationships and the value they bring to their business. The Customer Appreciation events act as a platform to showcase gratitude and engage with valued customers directly. By organizing these events, BSCs aim to strengthen existing bonds and forge new connections within the military community.

These events also allow customers to meet the people behind the scenes who work tirelessly to provide them with quality products and exceptional service.

One of the highlights of these events is the provision of refreshments. On a hot summer day, nothing beats a cold beverage or a tasty treat to reenergize attendees.

Engaging Booths from Popular Suppliers

To add excitement and variety to the events, popular suppliers set up engaging booths. These booths showcase an array of products and services, allowing customers to explore and interact with the offerings. From office supplies to tactical gear and clothing, the booths offer something for everyone. Customers have the opportunity to speak directly with knowledgeable representatives and inquire about new products.

New Base Supply Center to Open Early 2021 on Coast Guard Base in Seattle, WA

The Lighthouse for the Blind, Inc., has announced it will be opening a new AbilityOne Base Supply Center (BSC) location on February 16, 2021. This new location will be the first BSC to open on Seattle’s Coast Guard Base, but the 12th overall BSC run by the Lighthouse.

The opening of this BSC will bring much needed access to supplies for service members on the Coast Guard base. Because of each BSC’s convenient location, it allows personnel to walk in, select needed supplies, and have them delivered on-base or in office the same day. Essential BSC stores carry in-demand products like hand sanitizer, disinfectant, and other supplies that service members need access to.

Each Base Supply Center offers opportunities for people who are blind or low vision to gain retail experience by working in stores in various capacities. Many products sold in BSC stores are also produced by people who are blind or low vision either at The Lighthouse for the Blind, Inc. or other AbilityOne organizations around the country.

Disabled veterans and military dependents have the opportunity to join the AbilityOne team, where they continue to play a valuable role in the military communities that are significant to their lives.

The Lighthouse for the Blind, Inc. is a private, not-for-profit social enterprise providing employment, support, and training opportunities for people who are blind, DeafBlind, and blind with other disabilities. The Lighthouse has provided employment and support to people who are blind in our community since 1918.
